Billy Allen

Billy Allen grew up in Fallbrook, California, playing beach volleyball with his family in Oceanside. He played indoor volleyball as a setter at Cal State Northridge, but his true passion was the sand, where he made his professional debut in 2004 with Ty Tramblie. Over a long and successful career, Allen became a consistent main draw player, winning his first AVP title at the 2016 Seattle Open with Theo Brunner and defending it the following year with Stafford Slick. Known for his versatility, on-court leadership, and competitive spirit, Allen has accumulated multiple podium finishes on both the AVP and FIVB tours, including his recent victory at the 2025 Miramar® King of the Beach® at Red Bull Ranch in Florida.

Off the court, Allen shares his love of the game and coaching through his Coach Your Brains Out podcast and books, including Coach Your Brains Out, The Inner Knight, Good Blood, Dark Blood, and the upcoming Royal Blood. Married to fellow AVP pro Janelle Allen, the couple now resides in North Idaho, raising their spirited son, Ketch. A lifelong competitor and ambassador for the sport, Billy continues to inspire the next generation of volleyball players while balancing his family, coaching, and writing endeavors.
