Megan Rice

Megan Rice is a professional beach volleyball player, AVP standout, King of the Beach/Miramar athlete, and the face of Queen of the Beach. A Hermosa Beach native, Megan represents the next generation of elite beach volleyball while bringing a strong competitive background, hometown roots, and an authentic connection to the sport.

Despite growing up in the heart of beach volleyball culture, Megan initially focused on indoor volleyball. She starred at Redondo Union High School before beginning her collegiate career at UC Santa Barbara and later transferring to Loyola Marymount University. At LMU, the 5'11" outside hitter earned First Team All-WCC honors and led the Lions with 3.06 kills per set during her sophomore season.

Megan transitioned to beach volleyball during her junior year and quickly became one of LMU’s top competitors. She went on to earn AVCA All-American recognition, All-WCC First Team honors, and WCC Pair of the Year distinction. As a graduate student in 2021, she compiled an 18-12 record at the No. 1 position, went 3-0 at the WCC Championships, competed in the NCAA Championship, and earned nominations to both the USA National Volleyball Team and Collegiate Beach National Team.

Her professional career took off during her rookie AVP season in 2023. In her Main Draw debut at AVP Hermosa Beach, Megan and partner Savvy Simo made an unforgettable run to the final in front of her hometown crowd. She reached two AVP finals during her debut season and was named AVP Rookie of the Year.

Megan has continued to establish herself among the top athletes in professional beach volleyball. She competed for the New York Nitro during the 2025 AVP League season and now represents the San Diego Smash alongside partner Geena Urango.

As a King of the Beach/Miramar athlete and the face of Queen of the Beach, Megan plays a central role in representing the brand both on and off the sand. Her competitive success, Southern California roots, and growing presence in professional beach volleyball make her a natural ambassador for the Queen of the Beach community and the future of the sport.

Born July 4, 1998, Megan comes from a championship volleyball background. At Redondo Union, she helped lead the program to league, CIF Southern Section, Southern Regional, and California Division I State championships while earning All-State and All-America honors.

Off the court, Megan enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her dog, Winnie.
